about
i have never known who wrote this song, a friend showed it to me years ago, performed by The Welcome Wagon. it's almost a century old from what i can tell. i've always loved it. my family is catholic and i grew up learning to sing and engineer sound in the church, so it struck a chord. i used to sing this song every good friday as a ritual prayer. i am a student of philosophy and most spiritual practices, my only religion is world peace, tho i honor my family's traditions.
for 2019 i chose to re-write it for easter, with my current spirits and
thoughts of "The Universal Declaration of Human Rights".
i filled it with easter eggs of melodies from my new, soon to be released songs : )

lyrics
they all cried crucify, but she never said a mumblin' word
they decreed dig all the coal up and burn it all
(we need the fuel, we need the power to evolve eh allahweh)
they decreed cut down the trees and build your houses
(we need shelter, we need a safe place to grow up allahweh)
but spring has sprung and now we have the sun
we need coal no more, we get free power from our star
and from the movement of the wind and water
time has come, we burn the black smoke no longer
hallelujallaweh
they nailed her onto a tree, but she never said a mumblin' word
